Terms of Use
This text is the agreement between you and Anthony Ghizzo (Ghizzo Studio) for the use of the Saziao app. By installing or using it, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
1. What Saziao is
Saziao is a food diary. You record what you eat and what you weigh, you set daily calorie and macronutrient goals, and the app shows you where you stand. It calculates, adds up and displays: it decides nothing on your behalf.
2. What Saziao is not
Saziao is not a medical device and gives no medical, dietary or nutritional advice. The goals it suggests are general formulas applied to the numbers you type in. They account for neither your health, nor your medication, nor pregnancy, nor any particular circumstance.
Before changing your diet or your weight, consult a doctor or a registered dietitian — especially if you are a minor, pregnant, under medical treatment, or have a history of disordered eating.
Calorie counting does not suit everyone and can worsen an eating disorder. If tracking becomes a source of anxiety, stop and speak to a professional. In the United States, the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline is 1-866-662-1235. In the United Kingdom, Beat is 0808 801 0677. In France, Anorexie Boulimie Info Écoute is 09 69 325 900.
3. Your account
The account is opened with an email address and no password: you receive a one-time code each time you sign in. Keeping access to that mailbox is your responsibility, because it is the only way back into your account. Losing access to your email address means losing access to your data, with no way for us to recover it.
An account is personal. You agree not to share it and not to attempt to access anyone else's.
4. Accuracy of nutrition data
The values shown come from what you type in, possibly completed with generic food composition tables. The same food varies with its variety, its cooking and the actual portion. Treat the totals as an order of magnitude, never as a measurement. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of those values for your situation.
5. What you agree not to do
- Use the app on someone else's behalf without their agreement.
- Enter, in meal labels, abusive, hateful or threatening content, or data concerning another person.
- Copy, extract or resell the app's data.
- Circumvent service limits, probe, disrupt or overload our servers, or automate use of the app.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the app, except to the extent the law imperatively allows.
Abuse can be reported to contact@saziao.com; we may suspend or delete an account that breaches these terms.
6. Intellectual property
The app, its code, its design and its trademark are protected and belong to Anthony Ghizzo (Ghizzo Studio). We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use it, limited to private, non-commercial use, on the terms of section 12.
The data you enter remains yours. We claim no rights over it, and the export in section 9 returns all of it to you in a machine-readable format.
7. Paid content
The app may offer in-app purchases — subscriptions or one-off purchases. Where it does: the price and duration are shown before purchase, the transaction is handled by Apple, a subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least twenty-four hours before the end of the current period, and management and cancellation happen in your Apple account settings. Purchases can be restored from within the app using the same Apple ID.
Exporting and deleting your data remain free and complete, with or without a subscription. No subscription gates access to what you have entered.
8. Availability and change
The service is provided "as is". We may change it, discontinue a feature or stop operating it, giving you notice by any reasonable means where possible. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or freedom from error.
9. Ending the agreement
You can end it at any time: Settings → Export my data to retrieve what you entered, then Settings → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: the account, profile, meals, weights and goals are destroyed, and no backup is kept. We may end the agreement in case of serious breach of these terms.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, for data loss resulting from losing access to your email address, or for the consequences of dietary or health decisions you make from the information displayed. Nothing here limits our liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or harm to life or physical integrity.
Mandatory consumer protection provisions in your country of residence apply in any event.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any action; failing that, the competent courts will be seized in accordance with the rules applicable to consumers.
12. License and Apple-related terms
The following provisions apply to the version distributed through Apple's App Store, as Apple requires.
- Acknowledgement. These terms are concluded between you and Anthony Ghizzo (Ghizzo Studio) alone, not with Apple. Anthony Ghizzo (Ghizzo Studio) is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Scope of license. The license granted to you is a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on any Apple device that you own or control, within the App Store Terms of Service Usage Rules, including Family Sharing.
- Maintenance and support. Anthony Ghizzo (Ghizzo Studio) is solely responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation in that respect.
- Warranty. In the event of a failure to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who will refund any purchase price. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation; any other claim is for Anthony Ghizzo (Ghizzo Studio).
- Claims. Anthony Ghizzo (Ghizzo Studio) is solely responsible for addressing claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance and consumer protection.
- Third-party intellectual property. If a third party claims the app infringes its intellectual property rights, Anthony Ghizzo (Ghizzo Studio) alone is responsible for the defence and settlement of that claim.
- Compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on any prohibited or restricted party list.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.
